We Are Rooted In Cooperative Economics

For as long as there have been Africans in America, there have been numerous examples of Black social, cultural and economic solidarity. Often formed in response to systemic exclusion and economic stagnation, cooperative economics is how we #getonPACE

Established in 2018, The Union is the first black-owned and longest-running modern co-working & creator space in the PNW. Founded initially to house our education programs, we quickly expanded to include media capabilities that support the needs of our communities. This modular space supports education, events, business and everything in between.

Fueling Seattle's Creator Economy

In 2020, we expanded our mission beyond education and co-working to include full content media production. In the early days, many of our members needed a place to record a podcast, an interview, or have a photoshoot. Realizing the growth in this need, we completely remodeled our space to take advantage of every nook and corner. This remodel created over 15 production sets that can be leveraged for podcasts to documentary filming.
